My Summer Music Haul (My Top 11 New Albums)

Before I went to Spain and Sardinia, I had a massive music haul and updated my iTunes library. Here’s a list of all of them, with my comments and my favourite song from each album!

My Shame Is True – Alkaline Trio

This has become my favourite album over this summer! I’ve listened to it pretty much every day! I got the Deluxe Edition, which includes the Broken Wing EP.

Favourite song: The Torture Doctor (Or if including the Broken Wing EP, then it would be Broken Wing, such a catchy beat and so relatable!)

 

Pinkerton – Weezer

Time for some classic rock! (I know it may not be, but it is to me) I listened to this album every day while I was in Spain, it was my favourite out of the ones I had (I keep adding a few albums at a time).

Favourite song: Pink Triangle, it’s so catchy!!

 

Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace – Foo Fighters

I know this is quite old, but it’s a classic that I wanted to get into. I actually didn’t listen to it all the way through until I got back from Sardinia because I was too busy listening to the Alkaline Trio album, but I still listened to my favourite song on this album while I was out there:

Riot Hearts Rebellion – Patent Pending

Patent Pending have been a favourite band of mine ever since I saw them live at the O2 in Oxford, when they were warming up for Bowling For Soup. I downloaded this album because it’s their most recent, however I haven’t listened to it as much as I thought I would.

Favourite song: Love is Anarchy

 

Fading West – Switchfoot

I’ve been a fan of Switchfoot since their ‘Stars’ and ‘Dare To Move’ days. I didn’t listen to them much since then, so I downloaded their latest album, and I love it, and I think it’ll be great to run to!

Favourite song: Love Alone Is Worth The Fight

 

Taking One For The Team – Simple Plan

Simple Plan, along with Switchfoot, got me through some pretty dark days, and, similar to Switchfoot, I decided to have a catch up sesh and I downloaded their new album. It’s brand new but sadly my tastes have changed since I first listened to them.

Favourite song: Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching

 

City Of Gold – The Prototypes

A change of genre now, I wanted to inject some more Drum and Bass into my iTunes library. I knew The Prototypes made some really good music since Pop It Off and Don’t Let Me Go, which are both personal favourites of mine. I found this album while googling ‘best Drum and Bass albums’ and I knew it was going to be a banger.

Where The Light Shines Through – Switchfoot

Another Switchfoot album, this album came out the day before I went to Sardinia, a couple of days after I came back from Spain, so it’s brand new! I liked the last album, so I decided to give this one a try!

Favourite song: N/A I haven’t listened to this album long enough to have a favourite.

 

The Black Parade – My Chemical Romance

Another classic, this one had to be downloaded. I’m not entirely sure why I hadn’t already!

Favourite song: Welcome To The Black Parade

 

Misadventures – Pierce The Veil

A bit of a harder genre now, and during Lower 6th (Year 12) they were my favourite band with their Collide With The Sky album. Similar to Switchfoot and Simple Plan, I fancied a blast from the past so I downloaded this album.

Favourite song: N/A I like all of them, but I haven’t listened to the album for long enough to know the obscure titles to the songs.

 

Get Born – Jet

Another old album, but such a cracker! Need I say more? 😛

Favourite song: Are You Gonna Be My Girl
